The People Behind the Craft
Rabha
A direct descendant of ancestral master-weavers, she carries forward traditional techniques rooted in the Atlas Mountains. Every stage — from hand-spun wool to natural dyeing using river-sourced plants — is performed with precision passed down through generations. She oversees the training of artisans within the Atelier des Atlas cooperative, ensuring each rug is not only crafted, but culturally authenticated.
Houda & Hassan
With over two decades dedicated to Moroccan heritage preservation, Houda and Hassan founded Atelier des Atlas to bridge ancestral craftsmanship with contemporary design. Their work combines deep tribal research, artisan empowerment, and curated creations for modern interiors. Each Atelier rug is part of a larger cultural archive — an artifact of memory, not merely décor.
The Next Generation
In Atlas culture, weaving is taught early as a rite of passage. Our weavers’ families carry forward this ancient knowledge within their homes and ateliers. From childhood, future artisans observe, then inherit the ritual of weaving — preserving techniques untouched by time.
