Provenance & Craft

Provenance: Atelier des Atlas. This handwoven Amazigh rug has a textured wool pile and cream woven bands at the short ends. At the end nearest the camera, the band gives way to cream fringe gathered in uneven bundles.

Design Vocabulary

Below the large lozenge, a small multicolored diamond and a series of upright and inverted triangles punctuate the field. Toward the fringed end, broad ribbons of turquoise, magenta, ivory, mustard, and charcoal bend around angular blocks of color.
