Joyful Grid – Reclaimed Boucherouite Mosaic

Joyful Grid – Reclaimed Boucherouite Mosaic

Joyful Grid is a radiant Boucherouite mosaic—handwoven from reclaimed textiles by Amazigh women artisans. Featuring an eccentric checkerboard of chromatic fields, this piece reframes the idea of symmetry through spontaneity, balance, and color expression.

Each square is a capsule of energy, spun from memory and matter: cotton scraps, wool threads, synthetic fibers, and remnants of past garments. Together, they compose a living archive—a form of textile improvisation rooted in ecological intelligence and cultural resilience.

This Boucherouite is lightweight yet visually commanding. It works beautifully in modern interiors as a wall-hanging, hallway runner, or joyful living space centerpiece. Its asymmetry, irregular pile, and exuberant palette embrace imperfection as art form.
