Fragments in Rhythm – Boucherouite Checkerboard in Reclaimed Textiles
Fragments in Rhythm – Boucherouite Checkerboard in Reclaimed Textiles
Fragments in Rhythm is a Boucherouite rug woven from reclaimed textiles—each scrap, a remnant of life once worn, now reassembled into joyful rhythm. In this checkerboard field of bold primaries and deep contrasts, color becomes language and memory is transformed into ornament.
Traditionally made by Amazigh women using leftover fabrics and household textiles, this Boucherouite piece offers more than just aesthetic play—it is a textile archive, a narrative of resilience, improvisation, and ecological wisdom. No two are ever alike.
