Wave Echo – Aït Zyayne Beni Ourain Rug in Undyed Wool
Wave Echo – Aït Zyayne Beni Ourain Rug in Undyed Wool
Wave Echo is a Beni Ourain rug from the Aït Zyayne lineage, handwoven using undyed ivory wool sourced from the Middle Atlas mountains. The pattern—stylized to evoke the motion of fish tails or wave crests—draws from a rich visual language passed down through the maternal line of Amazigh weavers.
This piece carries an elemental quality, relying solely on material, texture, and light to speak its truth. No dyes are used—just the natural lanolin-rich fibers, combed and knotted with a rhythmic flow. The wave motif resonates as a symbol of fertility, fluidity, and cycles of life.
Minimalist yet steeped in meaning, this rug pairs well with earthy, architectural spaces or serene, contemplative interiors that value handcrafted nuance.
