Kasbah Windows – Beni Ourain Rug with Architectural Motif
Kasbah Windows – Beni Ourain Rug with Architectural Motif
Kasbah Windows is a handwoven wool rug crafted in the Beni Ourain region of the Middle Atlas. Its composition reflects the vernacular architecture of Moroccan kasbahs—specifically the symmetrical windows and passageways that characterize fortress homes.
The repetitive rectangular motif forms a structured grid along the natural wool canvas, invoking notions of entryways, thresholds, and domestic protection. Its layered vertical rhythm subtly mimics the stacked structure of earthen dwellings. Handwoven with undyed ivory fleece, this piece adds warm tactility to spaces while honoring a deeply rooted visual tradition.
Ideal for interiors where architecture and heritage meet, this rug is both a visual anchor and a symbolic map—a narrative of pathways, enclosures, and ancestral rhythms rendered in fiber.
