Threadscapes – Zanāfi Kilim in Fragmented Color

Threadscapes – Zanāfi Kilim in Fragmented Color

Threadscapes is a contemporary Zanāfi kilim that reinterprets tribal weaving into expressive, chromatic abstraction. Handwoven in the southern plains of Morocco, this lightweight flatweave breaks the conventional mold with its playful lines and fragmented fields of vibrant color.

Drawing inspiration from landscape, rhythm, and color theory, this piece dissolves geometric control in favor of movement and painterly spontaneity. It’s woven in pure wool with dyed wefts in vivid green, magenta, ochre, lavender, and celadon—blended with intervals of neutral ground for balance.

Ideal for spaces that seek warmth and modern energy, Threadscapes is less a kilim, more a visual poem woven in fiber—lightweight, joyful, and emotionally resonant.
