Marmoucha Abstraction is a Marmoucha rug from the Northern Middle Atlas. Its ivory pile provides a pale field for a spare arrangement of dark geometric lines and a compact central form.

Design Vocabulary

Long black lines angle in from the edges to frame the center. A small horizontal bar and a filled dark shape interrupt the open ivory ground, while further diagonal lines draw the eye toward the corners. Dark tasselled fringe is visible along the near edge of the current photograph.
