Festival Geometry – Boujaad Atlas Rug in Radiant Prism
Festival Geometry – Boujaad Atlas Rug in Radiant Prism
"Festival Geometry" is a radiant Boujaad rug woven in the Haouz plains of the Middle Atlas. Its bold triangular axis, pulsing with directional tension and chromatic storytelling, draws the eye inward—toward the symbolic core of the feminine journey and the homeward path.
This piece is a celebration of Amazigh vitality: a prism of jewel-toned color blocks—magenta, lapis, saffron, and coral—arranged in a chevroned arrow composition. The embedded glyphs, including stepped paths and ancestral combs, signal fertility, movement, and protection. These are not mere decorations—they are mnemonic code passed through generations.
Woven from hand-spun wool and dyed with a mix of natural and post-colonial synthetic tones, this rug is both artifact and artwork. It offers not only visual exuberance, but an encoded grammar of the Amazigh worldview.
