Sandstone Relief — Beni Mrirt Tonal Strata
Sandstone Relief — Beni Mrirt Tonal Strata
Sandstone Relief — Beni Mrirt Tonal Strata (350 × 400 cm, 2025)
A grand-scale Beni Mrirt sculpted in tonal ivory–sand wool. The field is drawn in softly stepped bands and organic strata, carved in high/low relief to catch light across the surface. Flatweave aprons and natural fringe finish the edges — luxurious presence, quietly architectural.
Glyph Reading
Striated relief registers mark measured passage — an Amazigh memory of terraces, dunes, and water paths. The layered drawing encodes rhythm and continuity; the open ground holds calm. Energetically, this piece grounds a large room while inviting warm, expansive flow.
